It was a great weekend for two
of the most under-appreciated divisions in mixed martial
arts. First off, UFC On FX 2: Alves vs. Kampmann featured the
first two Flyweight fights in UFC history. The UFC Flyweight
Championship tournament had great fights, but also some
controversy.
The next night, women's MMA had
it's most important event in over two years at Strikeforce: Tate
vs. Rousey. Meisha Tate, Ronda Rousey, Sarah Kaufman, and
Alexis Davis stole the show, and are all anyone was talking about
the next day. Except for one male fighter, who proved that
there actually is such a thing as bad publicity.
